I'm not sure you should expect electoral politics to be anything other than friend/enemy politics. What you call "derangement" is, to my mind, just "democracy." You will find no principles on the ballot box.

The market exists to serve the state, and not the other way around. In fact, markets and money originated as a way to turn products into coin to pay soldiers.

You seem to be conflating the free market with monopolies. It could be argued that the free market inevitably leads to monopolies, but that would be to me the distinction between conservatism and anarchism/libertarianism, the conservative accepts that the State must establish rules that protect freedom, including rules against monopolies. An anarchist or a pure libertarian thinks that freedom can exist without the state establishing it.
